Welcome to True Vanilla, a pure survival Minecraft experience with no teleportation systems, no land claims, and no pay-to-win features.

What is True Vanilla?

True Vanilla is a semi-anarchy Minecraft server focused on true vanilla gameplay. That means:

  • 100% vanilla Minecraft mechanics
  • No teleport commands like /home, /warp or /tpa
  • No claiming or protection systems

Players are free to explore, build, compete, or cooperate as they choose.

Joining the Server

To join the server:

  1. Open Minecraft: Java Edition
  2. Go to Multiplayer
  3. Click Add Server
  4. Enter True Vanilla as the "Server Name"
  5. Enter mc.truevanilla.net as the "Server Address"
  6. Click Done

Make sure your Minecraft version is between 1.20.x and 1.21.x.

Worlds

We have two different worlds:

Core

  • The long-term world with no resets
  • Typically more active, and is the "default" world you first join

Windfall

  • A world with a monthly poll asking whether to reset
  • Good for fresh starts and short-term builds

Rules

Before playing, read the server rules thoroughly.

Your First Day

On your first session:

  1. Move far away from spawn (spawn areas typically have more players, which can be both positive and negative)
  2. Gather essential resources (wood, food, tools)
  3. Find a safe spot to set up a base
  4. Record your coordinates externally - e.g. a notebook or a waypoints mod

Discord

Join the Discord server to get updated outside of the game - we strongly recommend to join it.
